Get ready to put aside your skinny jeans as a new pants style is coming to town – the trendy baggy drop-crotch trousers is returning this season.
According to Derick Chetty - star stylist - in his piece to the Toronto Star dated Oct.12, the new pants trend had emerged on the streets of Paris and New York during this past fashion week. Chetty’s trend timing and place might be controversial since the same pant style was shot in Milan by the thesartorialist.blogspot.com prior to the Paris or NY fashion week. No doubt the trend has hit the streets, weather was first seen in Milan, Paris or New York, the new trend is becoming so relevant that some people are even saying that it might become the new jeans. The style is a sexy and cool alternative for the old tired jeans. Our challenge might be to find a drop-crotch trouser in town now before the Spring launch.

La Nuit Blanche
It is a festival that celebrates performing arts, culture, art, architecture and cuisine in a night full of activities. Discovering art galleries, museums and unexpected places transformed by artists at night appealed to hundreds of Canadians that on Saturday Sep 30, 2007 that went to the streets to check La Nuit Blanche out.
The whole event concept is great but the execution lacked excitement. I went discovering the Queen street west -Trinity Park, Mocca Art Gallery, and I was expecting to see a bit more. More night clubs and bar supporting the event, more performing artists, more architecture interaction, more. Having experienced different cultural manifestations in various countries, I must confess that I had a higher expectation for this event. I was expecting to walk into a night club full of sleepless people like me, have a martini or a beer while enjoying a DJ playing, a performing artists dancing all surrounded by a neon installation lighting the club dance floor background. Regardless of my high expectations the event was quite appealing for the majority of the public and at least we had an opportunity to once a year stay up all night enjoying the city.
Despite lacking excitement, the event had proved that the city is hungry for different experiences and a more intense night life. The metropolis is not sleeping at 2:00 am when the bar doors are being closed and hundreds of sleepless people are willing to enjoy the freedom of being alive.
